Junior Software Engineer Intern (Summer 2026)

This summer, we’re looking for a Junior Software Engineer Intern to help us take a meaningful step forward in how our technology supports that mission.
This is not a passive internship. You will work directly with the CEO and play a central role in shaping how our product evolves.
The Role

This role will sit at the intersection of engineering, product, and execution.

Part builder, part architect, part operator.

You will help us understand where we are, and where we need to go as a tech forward company.
What You’ll Do

Conduct a full diagnostic of our current software and systems

Identify and help resolve minor technical issues and inefficiencies

Partner with leadership to define clear product enhancements

Help design a practical roadmap for product evolution

Explore and propose AI integrations that improve performance and user experience

Act as a project lead / scrum driver, coordinating with our outsourced engineering team to ensure execution and follow-through
Ideal Candidate
-
Studying Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (graduate students preferred, strong undergraduates considered)

Comfortable navigating both technical details and big-picture thinking

Interested in product, systems design, or technical leadership

Organized, proactive, and able to move projects forward independently

Curious about how AI can be applied in real-world products

Motivated by mission-driven work, especially in education and equity
Technical Foundations

Comfortable with Python (data handling, scripting, automation)

Familiar with JavaScript (bonus if React or frontend exposure)

Basic understanding of APIs and integrations (REST, webhooks)

Experience working with databases (SQL; bonus for PostgreSQL or Firebase)

Familiar with Git / version control

Details
Timeline: May – August/September 2026
Commitment: ~20 to 30 hours/week (flexible based on schedule)
Location: Remote, with preference for Denver-based candidates
Compensation: $30 - $40/hr based on experience.
